BIO: Cris Ruehle was born in 1956 in Sharon, Connecticut and grew up in the quaint town of Millbrook, New York. Both of Cris’ parents enjoyed art as their hobby. Her father drew pencil sketches and Cris’ mother followed her German father’s legacy of being a famous tailor by enjoying sewing, knitting and various art forms.
Cris studied pre-school education and children’s art at Bennett College in Millbrook, New York; while also working in the retail business. Cris entered the full time work force in 1978, as a manager in retail.
Cris continued her career in retail until 1992 at which time she and her husband moved to Cary, North Carolina. Cris used this as an opportunity to enjoy her interest in pre-school education and art by spending 5 years as a pre-school teacher followed by 2 years as an office manager for a pre-school education agency. She also held art work shops at various pre-schools. Cris then returned to her roots as a retail manager.
Through those years, Cris enjoyed various forms of art such as paper art, faux painting and furniture painting as her hobby. Although Cris has had a very diverse and wonderful career, it was time for another career change! In the Spring of 2004, Cris became a full time artist and started her business, Color Limited by Cris; to explore her interest in paper art!
Cris had a very exciting art show tour in 2005 including shows in Wilmington, NC; Blowing Rock, NC; Myrtle Beach, SC; Raleigh and Cary, NC; Richmond, VA; and Greensboro, NC. Stayed tuned for an equally exciting show tour in 2006!!
